The 'review for Captain Marvel' speaks up for Brie Larson

The early reaction for Captain Marvel have been mostly positive. The critics are loving Brie Larson performance along with Ben Mendelsohn performance. Captain Marvel is the first female led Marvel movie that takes place in the 90,s. The positive response to Captain Marvel has silenced some groups of people who where committed to trashing the movie. Brie Larson was certainly silent for some time waiting for Captain Marvel review embargo to lift.

Brie Larson received harsh criticism on being emotionless in two and half minute of Captain Marvel. As an audience, expecting a character showing all the human emotions is 90 second trailer is ridiculous. Marvel was being very cautious not to give away any spoilers in the marketing campaign. Brie Larson phenomenal performance in Room is enough to show her caliber and emotional attachment to any character.

In an interview for Marie Claire Larson told ” Nobody usually wants to take a chance on a disabled journalist. I’d love to know what your particular reasons were.”

“About a year ago, I started paying attention to what my press days looked like and the critics reviewing movies, and noticed it appeared to be overwhelmingly white male,” Larson responded. “So, I spoke to Dr Stacy Smith at the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, who put together a study to confirm that. Moving forward, I decided to make sure my press days were more inclusive. After speaking with you, the film critic Valerie Complex and a few other women of color, it sounded like across the board they weren’t getting the same opportunities as others. When I talked to the facilities that weren’t providing it, they all had different excuses”

Brie Larson just suggested it would be great to have diversity in press screening. She wanted Studios to invite Women and people of different races to press screening and conferences. She wanted her press conference and screening to be diversified so that everyone is included from different background, races and color. Brie Larson clearly stated she does not hate white dudes. Highlighting the statistics, she just want people of color to be given opportunity who rarely participate in those events.

Some news portal twisted the story and started calling Brie Larson sexist and racist. Some group of people did not like Brie Larson ideology and comment. They could not control their self esteem and started boycotting Captain Marvel. A young women who is willing to fight for underprivileged people is criticized so badly.

However, everything is working good for Brie Larson. Captain Marvel has received positive review from the critics and the movie is expected to open higher than 100 million at its opening weekend.

Captain Marvel arrives on March 8 2019.
