“The Future is Female” Marvel Phase 4 looks more divisive and inclusive

The Future is Female.” The San Diego Comic-Con was a great moment for Marvel moviegoers and Comic book movie geeks. Previously I wrote an article on Phase 4 line up and how Kevin Feige has demolished people concern after Avengers Endgame. Marvel Panel was not only a huge game-changer for comic book geeks but for also Women.

Marvel is currently on the top of Everest. Movie Studios are trying to reach the level of Everest but unfortunately, none have succeeded. Avengers Endgame beating Avatar was a cherry on a cake for Disney, Kevin Feige, and Marvel.

Now, its time to look beyond Avengers Endgame. Most of the movies and TV series were already announced. The biggest surprise of Comic-Con was the announcement of Mahershala Ali as Blade. Natalie Portman will reprise her role as Jane Foster in Thor: Love and Thunder. The future looks pretty interesting and divisive for Marvel.

Let’s talk about Women in Marvel for Phase 4. The first movie of Phase 4 is Black Widow. The movie is directed by Cate Shortland. Cate would be the first female director to direct an MCU movie. Anna Boden was one of the directors of Captain Marvel but she had Ryan Fleck companionship.

Scarlett Johansson will reprise her role as Natasha Romanoff in Black Widow. She has been the part of MCU since Iron Man 2 back in 2010. Black Widow will be the ninth movie of Scarlett Johansson in MCU and probably the last. The movie has a magnificent supporting cast. Florence Pugh and Academy Award Winner Rachel Weisz will give her great support in the movie.

The Eternals will be a new phase in Marvel chapter. The Jack Kirby created comic characters are a group of aliens set with the task of protecting the universe and its inhabitants. Richard Madden, Ma Dong-Seok, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Lia McHugh and Brian Tyree Henry all star in the upcoming project.

Ajak played by Salma Hayek will be the leader of Eternals. Along with Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie is huge star power in the movie. The Maleficent actress has been the part of Disney family since 2014. It was only a matter of time before she joined MCU. Makkari played by Lauren Ridloff will be the first Marvel deaf Superhero. Eternals might introduce the first gay character in MCU.

Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings will be the third movie in Marvel Phase 4. Shang-Chi will be the first Marvel movie with Asian Lead. The master of Kung Fu will be played by Simu Liu. Shang-Chi was already a huge priority for Marvel because of China. The second-biggest movie market has been a huge contributor to Marvel’s huge box office. Awkwafina is set to play a mysterious character in Shang-Chi.

Thor: Love and Thunder will be the fourth movie in Thor franchise. Natalie Portman will reprise her role as Jane Foster in the fourth movie. Jane Foster will also play female Thor. Some people have mixed feelings but I ain’t complaining. I am glad Marvel brought Portman back. Tessa Thompson will reprise her role as Valkyrie. Tessa Thompson revealed Valkyrie is looking for a new Queen. The movie will introduce an LGBT character in the MCU. I still think Carol and Valkyrie romance is in the card.

Doctor Strange: In The Multiverse of Madness will be the first horror Marvel movie. Scott Derrickson comes from a horror background. Elizabeth Olsen will reprise her role as Wanda Maximoff in Doctor Strange sequel. I always wanted to see two magicians together. Wanda, who is one of the most powerful MCU character will either team up with Strange or be the main antagonist.

There are many important female characters in MCU. Disney Plus will give Marvel a chance to explore more characters and their stories. I think Scarlett Johansson might be very proud to pass the legacy to powerful characters.

Kevin Feige proves there is no stopping Marvel after Phase 4 announcement
