Disney Plus marketing is Supreme despite launch line up being weak

Disney is having one heck of a year. The mouse house has grossed more than 7.5 billion dollars worldwide till July. Frozen 2, Rise of Skywalkers and Maleficent 2 are yet to hit theaters. Give or take Disney would be looking to crawl over 10 billion dollars worldwide. Marvel Studio played a key role in piling the huge box office numbers. Thanks to Avengers Endgame and Captain Marvel.

Disney is expanding its universe beyond movies and theme parks. Streaming Services have been a great value for many enterprises throughout the decade. We all know Alan Horn does not like being second in any field. So, Disney is finally stepping up for competition in Streaming Market. Netflix dominance is streaming market might become a bit shaky after Disney Plus releases.

The marketing for Disney Plus has been pretty aggressive. The Marvel panel in San Diego Comic-Con pretty much made it clear MCU fans need to subscribe for Disney plus because of its streaming series interconnected to the bigger picture. Marvel Studios is gonna play a key role in piling the number of subscribers in Disney Plus.

There are a lot of contents to get excited for Disney Plus when it releases on November 12. The Mandalorian, a big-budget Star Wars spinoff starring Pedro Pascal, will be one of the Disney Plus original series available at launch. It’s good enough to attract Star Wars geeks into subscribing Disney Plus. The TV series is written and created by Disney Legend John Favreau.

Disney Plus will have tons of great Star Wars content. The Force Awakens and Rogue One will be available since day 1 in addition with The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Disney will add Solo, The Last Jedi, and Rise of Skywalker over the course of one year.

Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Iron 3 and Thor the Dark World will be available on day 1. Captain Marvel was the first Marvel movie not be available at Netflix. I think it’s a strange choice to add not so well received Marvel movies and leaving out the best one. Avengers Endgame will be available on Disney Plus on December 11.

2021 might be a game-changer for Disney Plus when Marvel Tv show will make an entrance. Falcon and Winter Soldier, Loki, WandaVision, and Hawkeye will hit service. Disney is granting Marvel Studio enough space to expand their universe and Feige is taking the opportunity with both hands.

As a huge Marvel fan, I would have loved to have all the Marvel movies at once in the service. But it will be interesting to see how things will turn out for Disney. All the Pixar movies will also be available on Day 1 except for Toy Story 4.

In the early days, Netflix was not a huge deal among fans. House of Cards was gaining popularity and people were still getting the hang of Streaming service. However, the positive word of mouth for House of Card helped Netflix acquire a huge number of subscribers.

The streaming service will cost 6.99 dollars a month in the United States. The low price for qualitative content will definitely attract many customers for Disney. The main reason behind Disney not wanting all the qualitative content on Day 1 is business.

The first few months or year, Disney will have 6.99$ per month. The mouse house will definitely increase the price after Marvel contents and other hits streaming services. The subscriber won’t even complain about the increment in price because of the increase in entertainment value. The move is both brilliant in terms of business and customer satisfaction from Disney.
